// 01. EXECUTIVE BRIEF

Project Overview

This Video Call App is a production-grade real-time communication platform built with Flutter and powered by WebRTC for peer-to-peer media streaming. It uses Agora SDK for reliable global infrastructure and Firebase for signaling, presence detection, and chat storage.

The app supports HD group video calls with up to 10 participants, in-call text chat, screen sharing, and call recording. The UI was designed to remain responsive and smooth (60fps) even during active video sessions on mid-range devices by using isolates for heavy processing and hardware-accelerated video rendering.

Challenge & Resolution

[PROBLEM STATEMENT]

The Engineering Challenge

Maintaining stable 60fps UI performance and low-latency video relay (< 300ms) across varying network conditions while supporting group calls without burning through battery.

[SYSTEM RESOLUTION]

The Architectural Approach

Used Agora's adaptive bitrate streaming for automatic quality adjustment, offloaded audio processing to a background isolate, and implemented a selective forwarding unit (SFU) approach so devices only receive the streams they need.
